Plant Health Care (Ochrona Zdrowia Roślin)

For the candidates
The major includes a wide range of knowledge related to plant health in horticultural and agricultural crops and urban green areas. It was created to educate specialists prepared to implement the EU directive introducing the obligation to apply the principles of integrated pest management by all professional users of plant protection products. Our offer is tailored to the needs of a rapidly changing labour market.
The study program covers the following topics: agroecology, pathogenic microorganisms, plant morphology and anatomy, plant physiology, mineral nutrition and plant physiological diseases, entomological and phytopathological diagnostics, plant protection products and biocides, integrated protection of plants against pests, diseases and weeds, combating organisms harmful to ecological crops, ecotoxicology and environmental protection, plant diseases in urban areas, urban entomology and phytopathology, pests and pathogens of sanitary importance, agrotechnics as a source of stress for plants, plant protection technology, plant protection law, ecological infrastructure of farms, biostimulators in plant protection, horticultural plants in phytoremediation.
Career perspectives
After this course of study you can work in:
- individual farm,
- large farms,
- service companies dealing with plant protection,
- scientific and research units, universities and research institutes,
- education, in plant health and seed inspection inspectorates and EU agencies supervising the integrated pest management system,
- quarantine border points,
- botanical gardens and arboretums,
- seed and breeding companies,
- companies involved in the production and distribution of pesticides and fertilizers,
- garden centers.
