Agribusiness and proclimate management
The postgraduate course in Agribusiness and proclimate management is open to people working or owning businesses in the agri-food sector and those working in the public sector, as well as anyone wishing to broaden their qualifications to include the topic of proclimate management in agribusiness.
The strength of the postgraduate programme in Agribusiness and Proclimate Management is that it meets the requirements of the Act on Formation of the Agricultural System Art. 6 sec. 2 pp. Rural Development of 17 January 2012 § 4 on agricultural qualifications. Graduates of the course are given the opportunity to purchase agricultural land and acquire agricultural entitlements enabling them, among other things, to purchase land, open a farm and obtain subsidies and grants.
The programme includes subjects related to agribusiness issues, such as Business management in the agri-food industry with a process and design approach or farm economics in the context of sustainable development, taking into account issues related to the implementation of pro-climate solutions, and subjects related to pro-climate solutions in the agri-food industry, such as soil management systems in the light of climate change and food safety, the shaping of urban and rural areas in the light of climate change and technologies for the improvement and remediation of soil, water and air.
The didactic classes comprise 190 hours. Classes will take place from October to June, in a series of 10-11 Saturday-Sunday sessions. Up to 40% of classes may be delivered remotely.
The skills and knowledge gained during the course of study are useful for positions such as specialist/manager of sustainable development programmes in the agri-food industry, advisor for the food industry for sustainability in the agri-food industry, specialist/analyst for the agri-food industry for climate in the agri-food industry, project manager for sustainable development in the agri-food industry.
Study description
The study is aimed at those wishing to deepen their knowledge of topics related to sustainable management issues in the agri-food industry. The study may be of interest to those working or owning businesses in the agri-food industry and those working in the public sector.
Pre-requisite qualifications:
Students of the degree programme may be persons with a university degree of at least first degree.
General characteristics of learning outcomes:
Postgraduate students will possess interdisciplinary knowledge and skills in line with the growing market and environmental demand for professionals involved in the implementation and development of sustainable development, low-carbon economy as well as environmental protection solutions in the agri-food industry. Graduates will have the knowledge necessary to identify opportunities for the implementation of pro-environmental solutions and will be able to propose changes to optimise agri-food industry operators in this respect. Due to the subjects of economic and social sciences provided in the study programme, graduates will be competent and familiar with management solutions to complete the entire process of implementing a pro-environmental project (from identifying the needs and expectations of key stakeholders, through developing a communication plan for change within the organisation and a marketing strategy, preparing the project, obtaining its co-financing to managing pro-environmental change in organisations). The skills and knowledge acquired during the course of study will predispose graduates to
postgraduates to work in positions such as specialist/manager of sustainable development programmes in the agri-food industry, consultant for agri-food. sustainability in the agri-food industry, specialist/analyst for the agri-food industry for climate in the agri-food industry, project manager for sustainable development in the agri-food industry.
Graduation
The modalities and conditions for completion of postgraduate studies under the rules set out in the Regulations for Postgraduate Studies at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences:
- Passing examinations in all subjects taken during studies
- The final grade for the degree programme is awarded as the arithmetic mean of the grades obtained in examinations and passes in the individual subjects studied.

Fee: 4,600 PLN total for both semesters, payable in two instalments of 2,300 PLN two weeks before the start of each semester.

Admissions procedure
Those interested in studying should:
- Register in the Internet Recruitment of Candidates (IRK) system to study at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences
- Required documents:
- application for studies,
- personal survey,
- a copy or a copy of the diploma of graduation entitling to undertake postgraduate studies, certified by the university. In the case of graduating from a university abroad, the candidate submits the original of the diploma and its translation into Polish certified by authorized institutions, as well as a document confirming the recognition of the diploma or a certificate of exemption from the recognition procedure.
- proof of payment for studies, at least for the first semester in the case of payment in 2 instalments or payment in full in the case of a single payment.
