Faculty will host Karol Pawlak, creator of innovative horticultural empire Vitroflora with its headquarters in Trzęsacz near Bydgoszcz. Karol Pawlak – King of Gerber and Emperor of Flower Cloning in Poland, as he is titled in the floriculture industry – is the winner of the prestigious title of Outstanding Agro-Entrepreneur of the Republic of Poland 2021/2022. In his presentation in the pages of AGRO, he pointed out that “We have the family satisfaction that Fleuroselect – the prestigious organisation which brings together ornamental plant breeders from all over the world and awards annual gold medals, known as flower Oscars – organised its 41st congress in 2010 here in Trzęsacz. This shows the international appreciation of the horticultural community for the achievements of our Vitroflora. I immodestly add that I have been president of Fleuroselect for more than 3 years. I also consider it a great personal success that our companies have managed to retain excellent industry professionals and managers, including several with higher education. Among them are both Poles and foreigners, such as the Dutch. “
The meeting will be chaired by Dr Janusz Gołos, a graduate and for more than 20 years a researcher at the Faculty of Horticulture of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW), also Agricultural Attaché at the Dutch Embassy in Poland for more than 20 years, Chairman of the Council of the AgroBusinessKlub Association.
