Polish-Mongolian scientific conference in Ulaanbaatar
On 3 September 2024, an international scientific conference was held in Ulaanbaatar, jointly organised by the Warsaw School of Agriculture, the Mongolian Academy of Sciences (MAS) and the Mongolian University of Agriculture (MULS).
The conference was opened by the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Mongolia Krzysztof Boyko, Prof. Katarzyna Bączek (SGGW), Prof. Sukhbaatar Otgonpurev (MULS) and Prof. Khajidsuren Altanteetseg from the Mongolian State University. The event discussed the development of Polish-Mongolian cooperation in the field of agriculture. The conference brought together scientists and specialists from various countries, including Korea and Kazakhstan. During the meetings accompanying the conference, representatives of SGGW, MULS and MAS discussed the possibilities of continuing cooperation for the next years. The Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, Krzysztof Boyko, pledged further support for initiatives to strengthen relations between Poland and Mongolia in the field of agriculture. The event is a continuation of long-term efforts to deepen Polish-Mongolian cooperation in agriculture, initiated in October 2022, during the ‘Agroecology Sustainable Agriculture’ conference in Ulaanbaatar.
The conference was one of the key highlights of SGGW’s visit to Mongolia. The delegation was led by Dr Katarzyna Bączek, Prof. SGGW Deputy Director of the SGGW Institute of Horticultural Sciences, and Prof Zenon Węglarz from the SGGW Department of Vegetable and Medicinal Plants. During their stay in Mongolia, SGGW representatives visited Mongolian vegetable and medicinal plant cultivation and met with local producers of agricultural products and foodstuffs.
